The girls take in a show and a museum...

Just had to post a quick update about two recent field trips...

The girls and I went to see the Nutcracker with our friend Courtney. I was a bit nervous to see how long we would last and had a goal to make it through the first act. Low and behold, the ladies were mesmerized by the music and dancing. We made it through the ENTIRE ballet! And as we were leaving many people commented on how they didn't even realize we had two 15 month olds with us. Needless to say, I was so proud!

AND....we also took the girls to the Academy Science Museum in San Francisco. We were able to get there before the crowds to take in many of the exhibits. The most amazing part for the girls was the Aquarium. They loved the "sisshies" and Hayden tried to jump into the tide pool! Instead of just touching the starfish, she wanted to swim with them. It was a great time and we both took so much delight in watching the girls really take in the sights of the museum. We will definitely be back.

Tis the Season...

It has been a while since we last gave an update. I guess that is typical for this time of year. It seems like Halloween arrives and all of the sudden everything happens. Last year watching my girls sit on Santa's lap for the first time was one of the highlights of my life. I am not sure if it will happen this year or next as they are okay with Santa in books and as a doll. But the real one who can walk and talk...they both pretty much start to cry instantly.

The point of all this is more about the feeling that the holidays have been redefined for us. Everything is different. And given what is going on in our world, we have so much to be thankful for; our family and friends are near by and have their health. We have a warm home, a snuggly dog and food to eat at night. And at the end of the day when I see my girls laugh and smile as they stuff their face with dinner or splash in the bath I realize that I have already been given my Christmas present for the rest of my life.

On that note...here is a collection of some pictures from recent events. We were in Sacramento for Thanksgiving with the Nelson-Pattison-Bartlett side of the family. It was crazy and fun.

We look forward to being home over the Christmas holiday and to spend time with friends and family in the Bay Area who are back home visiting!

Happy Halloween!

We just got home from a great weekend in Sacramento with cousins and friends! Adam and Melissa hosted the Orange Party on Friday night which kicked off with the kids doing some trick or treating in the neighborhood. Jack was a pirate, Mia was a monkey and the girls were a bumble bee and a ladybug. Surprisingly they were not totally turned off by wearing the costume and just didn't want you to put them down anywhere. We hit about 5 or 6 houses, got some good candy and then headed home so the parents could "check it."

The girls had so much fun playing with their cousins and I think we all are exhausted. Jonas and I got to have a fun day yesterday by attending the wedding of Jamie and Joaquin Rodriquez. It was a great chance to catch up with high school friends and have a little time together.

Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Taylor had a breakthrough...

Her first TOOTH is on it's way out! We have seen two little white spots on her bottom gumline for a while now and it was only a matter of time for one of them to pop out. And today was the day! Hence, I had to take a picture of what will be one of her last toothless smiles!

And of course, we don't want to leave Remy out...he has taken over ownership of the tent that the girls got for their birthday. During the day we play beek-a-boo in the tent and have lots of fun. But as soon as the sun goes down Remy stakes his claim. It is so cute!

Getting Ready for Halloween

October is here and we have been having fun and getting ready for the Great Pumpkin's arrival. A few weeks back we went to the Pumpkin Patch with the girls and met some family there. Gogo and Papa Bill, Grandpa Mark and Grandma Abbie, Uncle Adam, Aunt Melissa, Cousin Mia and Grandma Kathy. It was a day full of petting zoos, pumpkin blasting and pony rides. The girls were really into the pumpkin patch and while they didn't want to sit in the dirt they really wanted to see and touch the pumpkins. It was the 1st of many trips to the pumpkin patch!

For Halloween we will be heading to Sacramento for the Orange Party, a Great-Grandma TJ tradition. You will just have to wait and see our costumes. Until then we will be heading to several pumpkin parties with friends, we love this season!!!

So much is happening!!!

There is a lot going on in the world of the Moe ladies. Since our birthday we have been very busy. Jonas and I took a road trip down to Fresno to watch Fresno State play Wisconsin. We met most of the family down there and while my Dad made his famous ribs, Jonas and I were playing flip cup with the 20 year olds. Loved it! Unfortunately the Dogs lost, but it was a great game and we had a blast.

We also welcomed Hayden's first two teeth, as noted below! What started as one tooth quickly became two. I have been trying to get some pictures of the teeth, but they are still working their way all the way out. And I think she and Taylor both have a couple more planning to make an entrance. Here is a picture of Hayden the morning we felt the tooth. She is obviously practicing her "camera smile."

Taylor has started making her way around the room. I think it finally dawned on her that she could get all the toys too after watching her sister move all over the place. Her crawling started over a week ago and she is getting stronger and quicker every day. I am a little nervous. :) Video post to follow...

And Miss Hayden has decided that crawling is not enough. She is walking!!! The first steps were taken yesterday and she has very quickly figured out how fun walking can be. Tonight before we put them down to bed she walked between Jonas and I at least 10 times. Watch out!

Lastly, they are talking up a storm! Hayden calls Taylor "Baby Tay Tay" and they both have mastered Da Da. Hayden also has a new love, her soccer ball. Wait that is Remy...

Hayden says "ball" all the time, it is her favorite toy. We also look at pictures a lot and everyone and everything is a "baby." It is amazing to watch them pick up words and understand so much.

So, here are some pictures from the last few weeks...the roller coaster ride gets more and more fun!

Breaking News!!! Breaking News!!!

Hayden has a tooth!!!

Yesterday she spiked a fever up to 102.8 (out of nowhere) so we rushed to the doctor to be sure that it wasn't something with her kidney, they sent us home with some antibiotics and we hoped that it was all okay.

This morning she woke up as chipper as ever ate breakfast as usual and afterwards when we were playing she took my hand and bit on it. My first thought was, oh she has a piece of toast in her mouth. Then I remembered...we didn't have toast, we had oatmeal! Sure enough there is a little tooth starting to break free!!!

As soon as we can see it we will try to get some pictures to post up here!!

We made it!

About 17 months ago Jonas and I walked into Dr. Vogel's office preparing for her to say, "Nope, that at-home pregnancy test was wrong. You're not pregnant." But instead we got, "You see this? That is Baby #2." WHAT???? We started laughing in disbelief and walked out of the office in a trance. We were going to have twins? Oh! My! God!

Fast forward to September 5, 2008 and our adorable daughters, Hayden and Taylor, turned ONE! The hardest part was Thursday night, I really did not want to put them down to bed because when they woke up it would be their birthday and my little babies would be closer to becoming little girls.

Friday came and we visited our doctor for their 1 year check up...Hayden is weighing in at 23 lbs 8 oz and Taylor is a rock solid 19 lbs even. They got a perfect report from Dr. Trujillo execpt that Hayden has decided that she likes to make funny faces at people and gave Dr. Trujillo "the look" after he had finished looking in her ears and throat. It was a sign of things to come I am sure.

Saturday was the party with a GIANT cupcake and all. The girls decided that they wanted NOTHING to do with the cake. Jonas and I tried our best to get them into it, but I think they didn't want to mess up their cute birthday dresses. (Thanks girls.) We had a great BBQ and opened up a magnum bottle of wine that was given to us the night before our wedding from my brother and his wife. It was a great day, thank you to everyone for making it such a memorable journey. I was so exhausted last night (or tipsy) and was ready for bed at 8pm. So, as the birthday festivities come to a close, I look back to me on Thursday night sad and scared to put them to sleep to last night when I went to bed a very proud Mommy.

Here are some pictures from the day!

What's for breakfast?

This was too funny this morning. Hayden decided that she was done eating her eggs and Remy was happy to oblige. The best part was how she was cracking up over this. She really knows how to keep herself amused.

Taylor & Hayden's Greatest Hits

I mean...how do you choose? They all are so cute. And of course, they all make me remember something special.

But as they approach their 1st birthday I thought it only fitting to share some of my favorites. Apologies in advance if the list is long...I can't help it. I will post some everyday as Friday nears. I am definitely feeling very nostalgic about this.

This was the day I found out that I was pregnant! Remy is obviously already pouting.

These are pictures of Baby B, which we would later learn was Taylor

And that means that Baby A was Hayden

One of my first glances of my girls. I couldn't believe it, TWO girls!

And of course, our first family photo!

What were you doing this time, last year?

Let's just say that question has been running through my mind a lot these days. One year ago today I had lunch with Courtney and Robyn and went to the mall for an hour or so. It really was all I could take. Then I remember coming home, relaxing and going to Macy's before they closed to buy our new couch. The plan was to have it before Thanksgiving because we were hosting the family. Jonas was home working on the kitchen trying to get it finished before the babies arrived, I had a c-section scheduled for September 26th at 11:30am. That was the plan.

Here I am at 33 weeks...

Taylor & Remy share a tender moment

Well...maybe it should be called a "sloppy moment." He loves his girls and they love him! It starts out with Hayden...but just watch for Taylor in the background.

Watch out world...here she comes!!!

It is official...Hayden is a crawler!!!

For the past couple of weeks she would take a few steps and then lay on her tummy. But as of last Sunday she is on the move and learning quickly. The other night Jonas took Taylor in to change into her PJs and when he came back into the family room he couldn't find Hayden! Don't worry she didn't get too far, she was just on the other side of the kitchen, but oh how this changes things for us. I am just thankful that only one is on the move at the moment.

Here is a little footage of her latest technique. I have to be honest, I was laughing the entire first day that she was doing it. So cute.

Where did the year go???

I am sure that we will be saying that every year! But seriously, this is crazy. The girls will be turning ONE in 3 weeks. As we begin to prepare for the party we are definitely reflecting and really trying to remember to capture as much as possible. I mean seriously, how did we get from this...

...to this!!!!???!!!

Back to the update...after the 4th of July we have mostly been home and hanging out with friends. The girls like to ask Catherine and Jack to come over as much as they can and they can't wait until they can all play together. We also had a visit with our other new friend James Dixon. It was great to meet him and to spend some time with his parents. We can't wait for the times to come. So, nothing too major to report, just a quick post to say hi and share as we prepare for the big 1 coming up!

We love spending time with our cousin Mia!!!

And of course the swings are our favorite!

And Taylor loves to be silly.

Our little sparklers!

We had a great 4th of July with the girls first trip to Lake Tahoe. We were so lucky to stay with some wonderful family friends who made us feel right at home, despite the pack n play, the 2 high chairs, the BAG of toys and baby food crowding the fridge. :)

The girls had a great time and really were wonderful on such a long trip away from home. We are working our way up to a plane flight soon enough! Here are some pictures from our long weekend. It was so relaxing that even Jonas & I felt like we got some R&R. Of course, we had Remy with us and he got to be a mountain dog. We can't wait to get back up there with the girls when they can swim in the lake.
